Red – Night-lights Berlin

880 euro – Serie ” Berlin Night-lights “

60 x 85 cm, acrylic paint on canvas (neon colors, reflected with the black light) , Laetitia Hildebrand, 07.2024

Inspiration: Backyard of the Gerichtshöfe, near my studio in Berlin-Wedding.

In this series, I seek to capture the vibrant, mysterious essence of Berlin’s often forgotten or disappearing night-time outdoor courtyards. These alternative places, marked by graffiti and the wear and tear of time, become luminous, almost metaphysical corridors under my brush.
Fluorescent colors, intensified by black light, transform darkness into a sensory terrain of exploration. Each canvas is an immersion in a nocturnal atmosphere where artificial light reveals hidden strata, both poetic and urban.
This series evokes a sense of isolation mixed with discovery, between dream and reality. It instills a raw energy, a visual and emotional tension that echoes the spirit of Berlin at night.
I love the atmosphere created by colored lights at night. With “Berlin Night-lights”, I pay homage to those neglected spaces that continue to vibrate in the shadows.

Here, red and fuchsia hues dominate the composition to express my passion of the moment, creating a vibrant dialogue between light and darkness. Fluorescent pigments, reactive to black light, conjure up a subterranean, almost electric energy. Between visual chaos and chromatic balance, this painting captures a moment suspended in time, where we feel both the isolation and the raw beauty of the city.
It’s an invitation to take a fresh look at urban spaces on the margins, to perceive their emotional intensity in a new light.
