20.08.2018- The Palace of Parliament- Bucharest (Romania)

I drew 2 times this huge Palace: before the visit and after, during 2 hours, because so many details 😅
Inside it’s really like a modern Versailles Castle (there is elevators). All was produced in Romania. There work 2000 employees. It’s really a town inside.
It’s 80 meters high and 80 meters deep (parking, bunker, …etc) 🏰
The dictator (Ceaușescu) built this crazy “Palace of Republic” end 1983 (communism). After the cold war (1989), it will be the “Palace of the people” and now is although for the Parlament. So the Romanians have to paid the taxes for this castle…
but they are allowed to see more Rooms than us, the visitors foreigners. We saw only 5 % of the building during 1h30. They finisched the constructions in 1997.
When you want rent a standard room for a reception it’s cost 2000 euros each day! 🙃💰
On the right side, you can see a big site for the “biggest orhodoxes church of Eastern Europe”. This project is controversial because it’s too expensive for the Romanians… 🤑🎢 #megalomania
